MAMBADY SHISHYA SAMAVESHA 2018

The golden year celebration of Himmela teaching of veteran Yakshagana Himmela Guru Mambady Subrahmanya Bhat was held on 4th November 2018 at Town Hall Mangaluru with the participation of senior and junior shishyas spread over the region.Neary 700 people attended the function.
The program started at 9am and got over by 8.30pm.
The highlight of the program was presentation of Poorvaranga songs, singing by havyasi and professional bhagavats, Talamaddale and Bayalata.
There was a release of Audio CD as a documentation of poorvaranga presentation sung by Guru Mambady Subrahmanya Bhat.On maddale Padyana Shankaranarayana Bhat and on the chende Delanthamajalu Subrahmanya Bhat.

The Guruvandana Program was conducted in the presence of His Holiness Shri Keshavananda Swamiji of Edneer Mutt , Harikrishna Punarooru, Padyana Shankaranarayana Bhat, Puttige Raghurama Holla, M Narayana Hegde of Kalaranga Udupi, Kumble Sunder Rao.
Felicitation speech was delivered by Kadri Navaneeth Shetty.

The program was touching and convention was with warmth and enthusiasm.

The surprise was the presence of Veteran Bhagavath Padyana Ganapathi Bhat who paid  visit and sung 3 yakshagana songs to remember the great Guru Mambady Narayana Bhagavatha who taught him the basics of Yakshagana Bhagavathike.

The awards received by Yakshagana Himmela Guru Mambady Subrahmanya Bhat(in his own handwriting while on travel): The first notable felicitation was held at Kolyoor Shankaranarayana Temple with the leadership of Kolyoor Bhaskar, Guru's shishya. In that Sanmana, the legendary Sheni Gopalakrishna Bhat made the felicitation speech.
The recent one is held at Chigurupade (Meeyapadav) on 8th of Sept 2018.

MAMBADY SHISHYA SAMAVESHA 2018

It is planned to organize a grand "Shishya Samavesha" of Shri Mambady Subrahmanaya Bhat , the veteran Yakshagana Himmela Guru of Thenkutittu style in the month of October/November 2018 at Town Hall , Mangaluru.

Starting the formal teaching of Himmela in the year 1968, "Mambady" as popularly called conducted classes in variour parts of Kasaragod Taluk of Kerala and Dakshina Kannada District. His classes are known for easy understanding and learning of PADA, MADDALE AND CHENDE in friendly manner with humorous touch.
The Shishyas who studied in his classes, home are now became full time professionals or Havyasi Kalavidas. The students coming to his classes range from age group 5 years to 70 years! and they are students, working professionals etc. It is a fact that majority of the professional Himmela Kalavidas of Bayalata troupes are Mambady Shishyas.

To commemorate 50th year of Mambady Guru's dedicated service to Yakshagana by the way of Teaching the traditional form of Himmela- his

disciples(shishyas) have decided to honour the Guru by conducting various forms of Yakshagana in his presence, a real tribute the successful Guru.

FELICITATION AT KEREKADU MULKI

On the eve of decennial celebration of Shri Vinayaka Yakshakala Thanda, Makkala Mela(R), Kerekadu, Mulki various programs  were conducted from 28.4.2018 2pm to 29.4.2018 morning.
 Veteran Yakshagana Guru Shri Mambady Subrahmaya Bhat was felicitated on the occasion. Shri Shri.Santhosh Guruji  and Mathaji of Shri Odiyoor Samsthan were present on the occasion.
Shri Jayanth Amin Kerekadu, Convener of  Shri Vinayaka Makkala Yaksha  Kala Thanda arranged the program.

Sheni Centenary Celebration Committee , Surathkal with the leadership of Shri Harikrishna Punaroor and Shri Vijayananda Rao arranged felicitation to veteran Yakshagana Artists: Agari Raghuram Bhagavat, Shri Shimanthooru Narayana Shetty, Shri Raghava Nambiar, Shri Mambady Subrahmanya Bhat. The program was held at Melina Marigudi, Thadambail, Surathkal on April 6th ,2018.
Shri.Ganesh Kolekadi presided over the function.
